And now for the obligatory third-person bio written
in such a manner as to attempt to deceive the reader into thinking I am
big time enough to have a publicist come up with this crap for me:
John is
an independent singer/songwriter with a wide array of influences that
serve to shape his music. His knack for melody, hooks, and lyrical depth
pay homage to a childhood spent continuously exploring the works of The
Beatles, Cheap Trick, Pink Floyd, Queen, and so many others. In fact, he
learned the drums with AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell” album and used
his many other musical inspirations to teach himself to play the guitar
and sing as well.
His debut CD “Does
Not Play Well With Others” is a collection of 15 songs
showcases his laidback performing style, layered guitars, and lush
harmonies. A true solo project, John played and sang nearly all of the
parts while acting as his own engineer/producer.
His second release ,
"Love,
etc...", is the polar opposite of his first offering. Where
"Does Not Play Well
With Others" tended to examine the darker side of interpersonal
relationships, and how and why they fail, "Love,
etc.." is truly the other side of the coin. Throughout the 18
songs offered in this collection, John searches for what it means to
make relationships work, the true nature of commitment, rocky roads,
roses, and mostly for "Love,
etc..."
A native of Maryland
with a dry wit, he developed his talents while working with numerous
local bands and studio projects, easily filling the roles of both
bassist and vocalist. Currently John performs
solo, and also plays bass with The
Brothers of Other Mothers, while continuing to write and record new
material.
John resides in Houston, Texas
...and thus ends the BS. Hi... My name is
John, and I like to make music. ("Hi, John") I spent a lot of
time on "Love,
etc..." and hope that you enjoy what I have to offer. In fact I
hope you enjoy it enough to buy many, many copies of this thing and give
them out as presents to all your friends! ;)
